Day 1: We left the dock at 6am to search for the wild horses who lived on Carrot Island. What we saw today was beyond any of our imaginations. First we found Wavelength, the Stallion on Carrot Island and his herd. He had three mares and one foal with him. It was a beautiful day on the island and we enjoyed traveling with the herd and photographing. By the end of the morning we knew why Wavelength was being so cautious and alert, Cyclopse showed up to challenge him. Wavelength defended his herd all morning. When we left that morning it seemed that Wavelength had fought off his arch rival, Cyclopse, at lease for now.
Come evening the battles continued, fierce fights between the two stallions, endless chases around the marsh and waters. Wavelength was not going to let his herd go easily. We could see how exhausted each horse was becoming through the endless chases. When we returned to the dock that night we were not sure how this would end tonight.
